Newport Bermuda Race

The Newport Bermuda Race has a storied history as the premier offshore sailing regatta in the North Atlantic. For its 2024 edition, the Race sought to expand its reach in the Newport, RI community with a large-scale starting event open to the public.

Joining the Race team as a writer and public relations lead, Mark LeBeau assisted in successfully grabbing the attention of local media and driving coverage of the event in print, digital, and television outlets across Rhode Island.

Additionally, Mark coordinated the Race’s Starting Line VIP reception—bringing together top personalities from the sailing world, business sector, and the Bermudian and Rhode Island governments. With an attendance of over 300 people, the event was regarded as a smashing success.

Lammis Vargas for State Senate

In 2024, Lammis Vargas, then vice president of the City Council of Cranston, RI, ran for the Rhode Island Senate’s open seat in District 28. Mark developed campaign messaging and a press strategy for the announcement of Vargas’ candidacy in what became a crowded primary field.

Closer to the election, Mark stepped into the role of campaign manager and delivered a victory in the five-way race. Mark secured key local media coverage of Vargas’ victory, and assisted in building her name recognition as she ran unopposed in the General Election.
